Barbarian Name Generator
Barbarian names cut. They're shorter than wizard names, harder than dwarf names, and wilder than anything a city-dweller would choose. Khorg Skullcrusher. Vrashka the Unchained. Thrax the Berserker. A barbarian name should sound like it was shouted over a bonfire and then tattooed on someone's forearm.
Use this generator for D&D 5e barbarian PCs, tribal NPCs in fantasy campaigns, warrior characters across any TTRPG, the rival villain of your sword-and-sorcery novel, or MMO warriors and brawlers. The Epic style always adds an earned epithet; Short returns raw first names alone.
Playing a barbarian worth naming
- Epithets are earned, not given. A young barbarian has a plain name. The "Skullcrusher" part comes after their first skull.
- Tribal cultures vary. A tundra barbarian sounds different from a jungle one. Pair with the town or viking generator for setting context.
- Short is ferocious. "Thrax" hits harder than "Thraxeron." Trust the short syllable.
