About Nominify

Nominify is a free collection of name generators for fantasy characters, creatures, and places. We built it because picking a name shouldn't take longer than the thing you're naming. Whether you're rolling up a D&D character in the five minutes before your session starts, naming a tavern for your tabletop campaign, drafting a fantasy novel, or hunting for a better username — the right name should be one click away.

How Nominify works

Every generator on Nominify uses hand-curated word lists — not AI-generated slop. That means the names are drawn from authentic phonetic patterns: Old Norse roots for vikings, soft lyrical consonants for elves, guttural single-syllables for orcs, and so on. When you click "Generate," our lightweight JavaScript combines words from these lists into fresh names each time. No two visits will give you the same set. No server, no account required, no tracking beyond basic site analytics.

What's in it for us

Nominify runs on advertising. When we're approved for Google AdSense, you'll see a few discreet ads around the generators. We don't sell your data, we don't require accounts, and we never put ads inside the results themselves. Using a generator will always be free.

What's next

This version of Nominify launched with 15 fantasy name generators. We're adding more every month — pet names, D&D classes, sci-fi species, usernames, business names, and weirder stuff. If there's a kind of name you'd like to see generated, the contact page is the fastest way to tell us.
